Step 1: Install Windsurf

Download and Install

1. Visit https://windsurf.com to download the installer for your system
2. Install and open Windsurf

Step 2: Configure API

Configure via Settings UI

1. Click the gear icon in the bottom-left corner to open Settings, or press Ctrl+, (Mac: Cmd+,)
2. Type "ai provider" or "openai" in the search box
3. Find the AI Provider configuration section
4. Fill in the following settings:
   • API Key: Your API key
   • Base URL: https://api.bsf.ai
5. Select your desired model
6. Save the settings

Configure via Command Palette

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+P (Mac: Cmd+Shift+P) to open the Command Palette
2. Type "Windsurf Settings" or "AI Settings"
3. Configure the API Key and Base URL in the settings page that opens

Step 3: Start Using

Basic Usage

• Cascade panel: Click the Cascade icon on the right or press Ctrl+L (Mac: Cmd+L) to open the AI chat panel
• Inline editing: Select code and press Ctrl+K (Mac: Cmd+K) for inline modifications
• Command Palette: Press Ctrl+Shift+P (Mac: Cmd+Shift+P) and type "Windsurf" to see all AI features
• Code completion: Windsurf automatically provides completion suggestions as you type; press Tab to accept
• Multi-file editing: Describe your requirements in Cascade, and Windsurf can make changes across multiple files
